TEC designates SAMEER-CEM Conformance Assessement Body for EMI/EMC testing

Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) under Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications and IT, Government of India has designated SAMEER-CEM as the SAMEER-CEM Conformance Assessement Body for EMI/EMC testing. SAMEER is the first organisation to receive the certificate of designation for TEC.
The TEC has been appointed as the Designating Authority (DA) on behalf of DoT for Telecom Equipment under MRA between India and MRA partner. TEC has the role of designating Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) located in India to perform testing and certification of telecom products to the Mutual Recognition Agreement or Arrangement (MRA) partner’s requirements. The role of TEC as DA is also to recognising Foreign CABs located in the territory of MRA partner to perform testing and certification of telecom products to India’s requirements. To qualify for designation, CABs must fulfil the criteria of designation as given in the scheme. These will be assessed by TEC in accordance with the criteria laid down by TEC. TEC will issue Certificate of Designation to CAB.
India has MRA with Singapore in Telecom Sector. The MRA in designating SAMEER-CEM as the Indian CAB is under process. This will enable Indian Industries with compliance assessment from SAMEER-CEM to enter into Singapore market.
